GORDON COUNTY CORONER RELEASES IDENTITY OF WOMAN FOUND ON I-75 NORTH ON SUNDAY: Gordon County Coroner Nick Blalock has identified the woman found dead on I-75 North this past Sunday.

“After receiving verification from the family, the Gordon County Coroner’s Office can confirm that Alayna Brooke Carter, 25, of Tempe, Arizona, formerly of Cartersville, Georgia, was the person involved in the accident Sunday morning, March 30, near Exit 320 in Resaca. The Coroner’s Office continues its support of the Georgia State Patrol, the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office, and the family of Ms. Carter,” said Blalock in a statement.

As originally reported, On Sunday morning at approximately 8:30 AM the Gordon County Coroners office responded to a call where the body of a twenty-five year old female had been discovered. Initial investigations have begun and the family is being notified. The decedent is not local. Pending family notification, information will be updated. Investigations continue as Gordon County Sheriffs Office and Georgia State Patrol coordinate with The Gordon County Coroners Office. The death occurred near the Northbound entrance ramp of I-75 at Exit 320.
