Tomorrow night, The Gordon County Board of Commissioners Meeting gets underway at 5 p.m. with the work session and the agenda starts at 6:00. Three items of interest: Two new vehicles for Gordon Emergency Management are up for approval. These are potentially coming from local dealer, Prater Ford. The Board will also vote on provided the roll-off dumpsters for Keep Calhoun Gordon Beautiful’s Recycling Program. The group, with lots of local business support, got a grant large enough to cover this purchase. And, the rezoning of two lots near I-75 in Resaca – on Highway 41 – from agricultural to industrial are on the agenda. The commissioners have advice from Professional Planning Staff to deny the request; the Planning Commission sent the board a split decision with a 2-2 vote.
Tomorrow is election day in The City of Fairmount. Voters there will choose a new Mayor and City Council Post One Member. Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
