Tonight is an important civic meeting for the Ranger Community. County officials will give an update on the status of the remodel/reconstruction of the old Ranger school, used until recently as a Community Center. In several Administrators reports, County Administrator Jim Ledbetter and his assistant, Assistant Keith King have informed the commissioners that a combination of factors discovered during the remodel phase of the project mean the facility may need a rebuild. The meeting is tonight at 6:00 p.m. at Ranger Baptist Church. A tour of the existing facility will be led by Mr. King if the structure is deemed safe enough for temporary occupation.
The Elks Lodge is looking for members! An affordable way to join a civic-minded organization, the Elks take part in many worthy causes locally: Luggage for those children who face removal from domestic situations, scholarships, and hosting local charities are just some of the more than 400 million dollars that this organization spends nationally. If you are interested – you get to enjoy the benefits of membership – a wonderful swimming complex, lounge- and discounts on the golf course. Shirley Woodall, one of our favorite people, will join us tomorrow on Coffee, Country and Conversation to talk about joining.
