Last night a well-attended update was hosted by Commissioner Kevin Cunningham, Administrator Jim Ledbetter, and his assistant, Assistant Administrator Keith King. The meeting, regarding the remodel/reconstruction of the Ranger Community Center, was an opportunity for those attending to have questions about the project answered by Mr. King. Also, all present were invited to tour the existing facility. In a state of disrepair – as the demolition of some structures began in the aborted remodel phase – the old school building has structural problems, construction flaws, and unredeemable damage to the facility from water; according to King, a remodel isn’t feasible. Before a final decision is made, King did say that the county will have outside engineers give an objective assessment. Updates will be here and on the air.
